Terms of Service

Effective Date: 01/01/2026

Welcome to Kovenant K9. By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. Services and Intake

  • The Clarity Check: Submission of a Clarity Check does not guarantee acceptance into a Kovenant K9 program. We reserve the right to decline service to any dog or owner we determine is not a fit for our training framework.

  • Results: Kovenant K9 uses a structured, proven methodology. However, dog training is a collaborative process and final outcomes depend on the owner’s consistency and ongoing commitment beyond the program. No guarantees are made regarding the permanent behavior of a living animal in the absence of continued owner maintenance.

2. Payment and Refunds

  • Deposits: A deposit is required at the time of enrollment to secure your place in a Kovenant K9 program. Deposit amounts are determined on a per-program basis and will be communicated and agreed upon prior to enrollment.

  • Final Payment: All remaining balances must be paid in full prior to the start of training. For Board & Train programs, full payment is required before the dog is returned.

  • Refund Policy: Due to the professional nature of our services and the allocation of time and resources involved, all fees are generally non-refundable once training has commenced. Refund considerations following early termination—whether initiated by the client or by Kovenant K9—are handled on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.

3. Liability and Safety

  • Inherent Risk: You acknowledge that working with dogs involves an inherent risk of injury to people, animals, and property. By engaging Kovenant K9, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kovenant K9 LLC and its staff from any claims, damages, or injuries caused by your dog to itself, other animals, persons, or property.

  • Private Property: Board & Train services are conducted at a private residential property. Clients granted access to the property for drop-off, pick-up, or scheduled progress sessions do so at their own risk and agree to conduct themselves in accordance with the standards of Kovenant K9.

  • Health and Vaccinations: All dogs participating in Kovenant K9 programs must be current on vaccinations as required by applicable local law. Kovenant K9 reserves the right to require additional health documentation at its discretion.

4. Intellectual Property

  • All content associated with Kovenant K9—including but not limited to website copy, graphics, logos, training frameworks, evaluation tools, and proprietary methodologies—is the sole property of Kovenant K9 LLC and is protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property law. Reproduction or distribution of any materials without express written consent is prohibited.

5. Product Sales (Store)

  • Gear and Apparel: Kovenant K9 offers a range of products including handcrafted leashes, sourced training equipment, and printed-on-demand apparel. All products are built or sourced to a high standard. However, the purchaser/handler is responsible for inspecting all gear before each use. Kovenant K9 LLC is not liable for injury, damage, or loss resulting from gear wear, misuse, or failure to inspect.

  • Returns: Returns are accepted only for verified manufacturing defects. Apparel is printed on demand and is not eligible for return outside of a confirmed defect.

6. Client Conduct & Program Standards

  • Kovenant K9 operates under a standard of mutual respect, structure, and accountability—for the dog, the owner, and our staff. We reserve the right to terminate the training relationship at any time for any of the following reasons:

    • Abusive or threatening conduct toward Kovenant K9 staff

    • Inhumane treatment of the dog in our care or under our program guidelines

    • Failure to uphold the basic requirements of the assigned training plan

    • Non-payment or failure to meet agreed financial obligations

    • Consistent failure to attend scheduled sessions without reasonable communication

    • Any conduct that compromises the safety, integrity, or reputation of Kovenant K9

Termination of the training relationship by either party does not automatically entitle the client to a refund. Refund considerations following termination are handled at the sole discretion of Kovenant K9 LLC.

7. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of McHenry County, Illinois.
